“Have Courage”

“Those who are very strict in their way of living; they deny themselves many of the joys and pleasures of life because they consider it might interfere with their work. They are hard masters to themselves. They wish to be well and strong and active, and will do anything which they believe will keep them so. They hope to be examples which will appeal to others who may then follow their ideas and be better as a result.” – Dr. Edward Bach

The joy of living succumbs to an excessive self-discipline and dogmatism.

The personality concerned aspires to match a certain ideal. To this end, the person strictly adheres to specified behavioral patterns or doctrines.

Those suffering from this character flaw would like to be a role model and a good example for others.

The personality concerned mostly chooses the path of asceticism to reach his ideal. He foregoes treats and pleasures, but also basic needs such as sleep, food, sexuality or recreation.

Empowering Phrase: I am in a flow, I am spontaneous and open to the new.

Affirmation: Leave rigid benchmarks and exaggerated discipline behind and find more openness and ease.

Keywords: Self repression, self denial, self perfection, overwork, self-sacrificing, opinionated

Human indication: Is indicated when you are too strict and set too-high standards for yourself, to the point of self-domination and self-martyrdom

The original Bach Flower Remedies is a safe and natural method of healing discovered by Dr. Bach from 1920 – 1930’s in England. They gently restore the balance between mind and body by casting out negative emotions such as fear, worry, hatred and indecision which interfere with the equilibrium of the being as a whole. The Bach Flower Remedies allow peace and happiness to return to the sufferer so that the body is free to heal itself.

The Bach Flower Remedies are made from wild flowers and are safe for the whole family including pets.

The remedies are preserved in grape based brandy and are gluten free.

The 7 Bach Flower Groups

Dr. Bach separated the 38 Bach Flower Remedies into 7 emotional groups.

The 7 Bach Flower groups makes it easier for us to separate the Bach Flower Remedies into feelings, such as  fear, despair, loneliness, uncertainty etc.
When we ask ourselves, how do I feel? Do I feel fear, what kind of fear? Do I feel despair, what kind of despair? Then the groups can aid us and determine which of the Bach Flower Remedies will help us get our emotional balance restored.

The Bach Flower Remedies are so simple to use that no science, no knowledge is necessary apart from the simple method described above.

Rock Water falls into the following group:

Live and Let Live - Overcare for Others

Beech: When you criticize everything. You are usually extremely intolerant towards your fellow men.

Chicory: When you often intrude yourself into other people’s affairs. You give unsolicited advice and force your help onto others in order to create an emotional dependency.

Rock Water: When the joy of living succumbs to an excessive self-discipline and dogmatism.

Vervain: Full of excitement and vigor, you want to change the world for the better. In fear of missing out, you rush from one project to the next.

Vine: Communication means having the last word, giving instructions rather than taking them – and not allowing backtalk.

More information on the other groups can be found here.

How to take the Remedies

You make a Bach Flower treatment bottle by adding 2 drops of each of the selected Bach Flower Remedies to a 30 ml dropper bottle. You can combine up to 6 or 7 Remedies in a treatment bottle.Dropper Bottle

As preservative (optional) you can add 1-2 teaspoons of brandy, apple cider vinegar or vegetable glycerin. You then  fill the bottle to the top with water. From this mixture you take 4 drops (or 2 sprays), 4 times a day until you feel better.

If you wake up one day feeling a bit out of sort, you can add 1-2 drops of a remedy or more, to a drink and take small sips throughout the day until you feel better.

Rescue Remedy can be taken as often as needed, either by adding 4 drops directly in your mouth or adding 2-4 drops in a glass of water and drink it slowly over a period of time.

And may we ever have joy and gratitude in our hearts that the Great Creator of all things, in His Love for us, has placed the herbs in the fields for His healing.
